Suggestions on Backpack

SShooterz,
For a pack that carries for calling stands and such in hot, humid environments I chose teh Ultraday. It doesn't carry the rifle too. I had a freind wear it a few days ago loaded with an XR6 Foxpro caller n remote, mediacls, food, water, light jacket, fire kit, all that stuff. It bulges but carries it. He said he really didn't notice the load 'cause the packs sits so well. He also said it was a cool pack to carry 'cause it uses a mesh panell on your back.

I really thnik you need to go have a look at www.huntpacks.com

Persoanly, I prefer the Badlands Hypervent range in hot enviornments, but there are others.

I have the X1 and it is a great pack. The top of it forms a nice shooting surface if you fill it right. However, guns with bipods don't fit the scabbard. I have used this pack as hunting pack in Arizona for pigs, Pa for deer, and even a carry on when traveling (just tuck the scabbard away and it looks like a normal bag). Plenty of room for a day pack and easy access to all the compartments.

mikethehunter,
it has plenty of room for all your gear, and you can pack out game with it, several zippered pockets in convient places, but overall it is simple and easy to use and get to your gear. a million pockets is nice sometimes but if you need something quick they are a pain, that is why i like the X2, it is simple and comfortable and effeciant, IMHO

I hate this site sometimes..... I dont need a backpack but dang those Eberlestock j34 look BAD!! Now I want one....

The same way that I didnt NEED a shotgun but really wanted one.. and the same way that I didnt NEED a new foxpro but got one... the same way that I dont NEED to reload but really want to.. you get the drift...

the "just one" line is definatly cool with a lot of cool features, for me it was the cost to jump up to one of those when i dont need that much room really was enough to change my mind back to the x2. the only thing i would change about the x2, is i would put the gun scabbarb in between the shoulder blades like the other packs.

Boy, you aren't kidding. My current backpack is falling apart and the X2 is something I've been drooling over for a while.

that badlands hybrid looks really nice for a normal day hunt pack.

back when i started planning a trip to NZ for a big hunt that was supposed to happen last spring, i started to look real hard at the big eberlstock packs that i could haul all my gear in to the mountains with me for the extended 5-7 day hunts.

I like that badlands hybrid. Now I need to find the best deal on one.

Well I went with the Eberlestock X1 Euro Backpack.

Totally geeked to go out and try this thing.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions. The only problem I ran into was that I wanted more than one!

I've got Mapedition's next size down (Can't remember the model right now--read, "Old"). It's a nice, solid pack. They put quite a few loops and dividers in the lower pocket to put a knife, lens pen, sun screen, etc. The pack is heavy duty enough to handle all the weight most guys would want to carry around in the field. The Vulture II might be a better size if you wanted to carry a bulky jacket/rain gear also. Hope this helps.

I'm handling a slightly lighter tactical pack for varmint hunters in my inventory that will be pretty serviceable but probably not as tough as the Maxpedition stuff. I think most guys will find it adequate for their varmint shoots at the price point. Good luck!

Thanks Tim.
The one you have is probably the Condor.
I got the Vulture II last week and it seems like a nice pack. It's put together really well, and lots of room for jackets and stuff like you said.
