Super Hogster CR123 battery life?

I apologize ahead of time if this has already been asked. I did a search and couldn't find a specific answer.

Are you guys finding a certain cr123 battery that works best/last the longest in the super hogster? If so what kind of battery and how long are you getting out of them in colder conditions?

I know a separate rechargeable battery pack is probably the best option but looking for cr123 batteries that work the best for times that we'll be using it as a handheld scanner. Thanks for your help!

Sorry, not too helpful as I run a battery pack when using it as a handheld as well. The only reason there are CR123s in my Hogsters is if for some odd reason my pack would go dead, it would switch over to internal. Hopefully, someone else will have some good recommendations.

I run Rechargeable batteries once in a while. Usually I run a battery pack..

In the cold with the rechargable 123's I normally get 3 to 4 hours out of a set.. Hope that helps..

I used energizer batteries in my 35 and got 4 hours out of one set, 1 hour out of another 2 sets and 1/2 hour out of a third set. Needless to say I'm not impressed with the Energizers. The scope came with Surefire batteries, I think I will try those next.

I have since bought Anker battery packs. I tried a Dynex and it would not work below 32 degrees. The Ankers do not have this issue.

Did you use the ultimate lithium’s, if it’s cold it’s the only battery that holds up. They will perk back up between uses till they just go dead.

They were lithium. I tested them with a volt meter after and they were dead. IMO, they bad from the start, but I did not check them prior to use.
