Super Hogster Shutting Down with Anker Battery

I thought there was a post about this issue a while back but I can't find it.

I have a super hogster and trying to run an Anker battery to it. Anytime I plug the cord into the remote Anker battery the super hogster shuts down.

I've tried to using two different Anker batteries and also a couple different cords. I'm having the same issue with everything. Thoughts are recommendations?

With a voltmeter, measure the voltage coming out of the cord you are using which is plugged into the Anker. Most of the power supplies have a small switch that turns them on or enables the juice to flow. Once you have measured the voltage, report back here for additional help. Volt meters are less than $10 on Amazon, Harbour Freight, Walmart and similar places.

Try it without your batteries. Also are you running rechargeable batteries or 123's? If it doesn't turn off without the batteries
inserted, I would just leave them out.

I had the same problem last year with my SH.

The first year I used the little magnetic connector that went it the SH port, along with a magnetic cable to alleviate any issues with port wear. The following year, last year, I could not fire up the SH on the external battery, I had to used the internal batteries to power up the SH, then plug in the external. It may or may not work every time, plus I had it shut down in the middle of a set once in a while. A real pisser if you have a coyote coming in.

I called Bering, and he said it was the magnetic connections being the issue, despite being high speed versions, supposedly.

I found the fix was to go to a 90* direct connector out of the SH facing forward towards the external on the side of the hand guard, and using the shortest cable to reach the battery. If I remember right, I still had to power up the SH with the internals first.

I'm using regular Lithium 123's.

Thanks for the insight everyone. I will check troubleshoot it some more and report back!
