Super Quiet Around Here .....

Started hunting sporadically June 18 after the 'spring hiatus' since March 31. Up to 26 sets now. Did hear a group (pups, I think) Sunday night several hundred away and I think the same group Monday night as I went to where I thought they were the night before but they hit me once and did not show even though it sounded as if they were inside 300yds.
Now to Tues. night (we have had 3 nights in the low 60's so I took advantage of em), I finally saw 1. AND MISSED! I am hunting a long hollow with hayfields and woods heading N/S off of the main E/W hollow. Wind is out of the N. Been in set 30min and had just finished a denraid followed by pup distress and into about 5min of silence when a low bark/howl comes from the S across the main hollow. I decide to wait in silence for 30 and repositioned to easier cover my downwind. After the 30 I go get the call which was about 80yds down hill to my E next to the small creek. When I got back to the gun decided to scan S 1 more time and there it was at about 350yds to my SE. I got settled and started lip squeaking and it slowly began working my way. Got to about 250 and headed W, I figure to get downwind, which it did and started to leave. It stopped and looked my way, and I sent one its way to no avail:mad:.
Since not much is being posted I thought maybe a "story" might be in order.
