Super Sniper Scope?

I've only ever heard of these scopes, but everything I've heard about them has been pretty good. I'm looking at either the 10x or 16x model and not the mrad ones, the Mil-dot. I'll probably be shooting out to 400-500 yards at the max. Would you guys recommend this scope over the Bushnell elite 3200 10x or the Weaver tactical grand slam 3-10x? Any input or other suggestions for scopes is appreciated, but I really want to keep it below $300. Also on the SWFA site it shows under accessories something called the mil-master and kill-flash, what are those? Thanks

I have the fixed 6x and love it. If you're thinking 10x get the 3200 and put the extra into nice mounts and ammo. Word is the 16x is so-so glass wise, but they're tough as nails so depending how you treat your gear it could be a good choice. The Super Sniper is tough and that's its best feature. If you want more versatility I've heard nothing but great things about the Weaver. It really is a question of how you treat your gear and what you intend to do with it.

The mil-master is a quick reference table for range and adjustments. Read the description below.

The kill flash fits over the front of the scope and looks like a honeycomb pattern. It reduces scope glare for anybody looking in your direction. Kind of an unnecessary feature unless you're getting shot at...

I have owned the 20x, 16x, 10x (x2), and the new 3-9. They are a great amount of scope for the money. I would have no issues sugguesting them to others. Adam

I've used/owned/own most all of the SS scopes. The original 10X, 16X and 20X mildot models are all great scopes. I didn't care for the 20x to much because of the smaller exit pupil and a general disliking of anything mag'ed over 16X but the 16X SS still finds its place on whatever gun I'm doing load development in. Glass is clear and it tracks very true. As far as the 10X SS over the Elite 3200 its not comarison, the SS blows the 3200 out the water, glass is noticably better. They did just come out with the new MIL versions, not even availible to be bought yet although the few I played with while visitng SWFA last month looked mighty promissing. They also are making a 12X in the mil version that may be appealing to you.

The new non-HD SS scopes coming out with mil-rad adjustments will be a big improvement over the MOA adjusted ones, for the same price. Having turrets match the reticle is a lot easier than having to convert everything from MILS to MOA. The killflash will also work as a sunshade.

If you have the coin, I'd preorder the 12 or 16X mil scopes set to release soon. That way you get in on one of the first batches that come over.

I have a 10x42 on my 22 250 and couldnt be happier. had a 20x on a .308 and wished I just went with the 10x. 500 yds is about as far as I can shoot the 20 x was overkill for me.
