I didn't see those specs on the web site, but most of it is on page 30 of his catalogue. I'll post it here in case anyone else might be interested.

carrier / sleeve weight* 1.54oz.
stainless steel insert 1.25 oz.
tungsten carbide insert 2.51 oz.
overall length 2.16"
carrier / sleeve thickness** .154"

* from the picture in the catalogue vs: the actual carrier / sleeve, it appears as if he changed the design very slightly, with the catalogue showing the older version. Newer version has a beveled edge at the back-end. The only reason I mention this is because I don't know if the weight listed is correct, or not, and I don't have any way to measure the actual weight. I'm guessing is probably the same, or very close to it. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer your question exactly if you would wish to call them. They've been extremely helpful in answering any questions I've had regarding their products when I've phoned them.

** this dimension is the thickness of the wall of the carrier / sleeve. Is that the dimension you were wanting? If not, repost what you need, and I'll be happy to measure it for you.

For those that have the catalogue, I've found the pic of the two fired cases at the bottom of pg. 30 (one fired using the CWS, and one fired without the CWS) very interesting, given that they are exactly the same load.

My springs just showed up.
Thats alot of spring to stuff into a carbine stock.
The others fit nicely.
Cant wait to shoot tomorrow and see what differences it made.
It did collapse my hydraulic buffer so I guess I may as well pull it out and put a rfular buffer in and see which is better.

Yip, no problems at all with the flat wire spring added. Got rid of the sprong sound and just feels better!
 
Got the new spring installed Monday night.
Tuesday evening I tried some 50gr V-Max, 55gr Sierra BTHP and 60gr V-Max loads. None of the loads tried would eject and feed the next round. (All the loads are loaded just below max). Snipped off a couple coils and tried them again. No change. Snipped off 3 more coils and tried the 60gr V-Max. It would eject the case but not feed the next round. Then it got too dark to test.
Called SSS Wednesday and talked to a guy in customer service about my problem. He said to just snip off enough coils to get it to function correctly with my loads.
All total I've had to take off 7 coils to get the gun to function. The new spring is now the same length as my OEM spring but it does seem stiffer.

The Superior Shooting System Buffer Spring has worked for a lot of you guys but seems like my gun doesn't like it.
The testing will continue... for awhile.

My invoice says they shipped the standard length spring.
 
Alright guys. I just picked up my new Oly AR-15A1 yesterday and have yet to shoot it.

Will the buffer spring fit into the standard A1 stock without adjustment and function? Or do you have to experiment and cut sections off to get it adjusted?

Do you have an A1 or A2 stock? The A1 is a little shorter. I do think, however, that the spring will work the same on either stock. If in doubt, call Tubb and ask them. They're great folks to deal with.

I have 2 Tubb springs in A2 stocks, and they are functioning great.
 
I have the shooting system ( weights and spring) in my .204 and have shot it in all configurations of weights with my hydralic buffer and have had zero problems with function. SM
 
As I stated earlier, I have snipped 7 coils off of my new SSS Buffer Spring just to get my loads to feed and eject. The bolt will still not lock back on a empty mag. However I did shoot some 62 grain factory Federal loads yesterday and they did lock the bolt back after the last round.

My hand loads( using 50, 55, 60 grain bullets and Benchmark powder) are all at or just below max according to the Hornady and Hodgdon manuals. All those loads functioned and grouped well with my old 6 position stock and buffer.

My full size buffer tube, buffer and full size ACE stock was ordered from Model 1 sales and everything fit perfectly.

Anybody else have any other thoughts as to what's going on with my gun?
 
As a followup...

I installed a Tubb flat wire spring and CWS in the 25Wizzer and had no problems with cycling reloads in bullet weight from 75gr VMAX to 117gr SST.
And I noticed how much cleaner my fired brass looked right away. Take a look for yourself...

I stopped snipping at 7 coils and ended up taking the SSS buffer spring out, got tired of the short cycling and failures to feed. Put the original recoil spring back in and all the problems went away. I'll just have to tumble the dirty brass more often. Guess my gun just didn't like the spring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

These are same same exact results I got.
I love it!
