I have a couple of Cole-Tacs, but I almost never put them on.
I bought them mainly to use when shooting prairie dogs, but I found it take too long to cool the cans down with them on, & the mirage is a non event on the prairie where the wind is always blowing.

I bought a couple of thin open end wrenches for that, mainly because a regular wrench was too thick to fit with larger barrels.
When prairie dogging, I just prop the gun up with the bolt open to cool while loading the truck to move or quit for the day, only takes a few minutes to cool enough to handle and/or put in a case.
