Survey Time: What’s better, solo or Partner Hunting?

I don't usually click on outside links.

I personally prefer calling and hunting solo. Occasionally it is nice to hunt with a partner, but it is hard to experiment with a partner/try different things. With a partner I feel responsible if it is a poor day. I do hunt with one person that is enjoyable to be around because he doesn't care if we kill coyotes, it is just fun to be out although full day hunts and long hikes are getting tougher.. We both kill enough coyotes that it is a highlight of the day, not a necessity. Usually a partner is just to cumbersome. I hunt in my hunting truck, sometimes I like to stop midday and make a batch of chili and tortillas and have a nice relaxing lunch and if I started early a quick siesta not something conducive to hunting with a partner. I also like to hunt multiple days camping out hard to do unless heavily scheduled not something most can do at the spur of the moment. I can call my wife and tell her I'm camping out and asks the general vicinity incase I dont show up or check in the next night.

Put me down for solo

Yeah, not an unknown link clicker these days.
Mark me as Solo. I don't mind having a good partner along but many of my properties are tight, and many of my landowners only want one guy (Me) doing the shooting. Plus I kind of like the alone time. When things go wrong I know it wasn't something that someone else boned up.

For most of my life, I actually did prefer solo. But not anymore. I way prefer going with a buddy anymore. To the point, I think I only went once by myself last year. I think there are a lot of different reasons. Part of it, for sure, is I don't care if, or how many I kill anymore. And it's just a lot more fun not killing many with someone to laugh about stuff with.

Put me down for solo.
I find that finding a partner with the same style, skills and drive can be quite difficult and have only had one partner who I would want to continue going with and even he has a bad habit of walking miles upon miles for no reason 😂

I do most of my hunting solo but I would say I prefer hunting with a partner. I'm in my mid 30's so most of my buddies have kids and wives so it makes it impossible to hunt with them. I find myself hanging out and hunting with a lot of retired guys. Generally they are pretty easy going and there's very little ego involved.

I'm surprised how many say solo. It's much easier to cover all the terrain and angles with a buddy or two. Personally, I like a 3-man crew, provided the other two know what they're doing.
