SUV owners

Planning on buying a new SUV. Right now we have a Nissan Exterra, never any problems but just going to get something a little bigger and 4 wheel drive. I'm not brand specific, just want to get some views from other owners. It has to be 4 wheel drive and have the 3rd row seats. Usually when I go on leave back home, I pull a 5ft X 10ft trailer, so it has to be able to have a trailer hookup. It is for the wife and when we travel, being in the military we go alot. I'll be driving my F-150 till the wheels fall off. Thanks

I have the Extended Trailblazer. 3rd set is comfy for adults. Nice ride. Gets about 16-18 mpg on the hiway. It has about 50k on it with no problems.

I'm going the other way from an '02 Trailblazer 4x4 which is a good rig, my best mpg was 16 city/21 hwy, with gas headed to $4+ a gallon this summer, the newly redesigned V6 Toyota Rav4 4x4 is looking good with a 3500lb tow capacity for my boat or travel trailer and a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds, mpg at 21 city and 27 hwy look mighty inviting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have an '01 Suburban with the 3rd seat. Bought it new and now has 135,000 miles with no problems. It's been in sand, snow, mud, and Colorado Cactus fields and always gotten me home.
It has the 5.3 liter engine (old 327), gets 14 around town and 17-18 on highway. If I were going to be pulling a trailer much, I would go for the larger engine, I think.
I'm half way through the 4th set of tires and getting ready to replace the 2nd battery.
I wish they would go back to offering one in a diesel.

I also have a GMC Yukon. 100,000+ and no probs. Ocassionally pull an 18' double axle trailor with my tractor on it. Like it better for towing than my F150 4x4, but hard to beat the work versatility of a pickup.

On my second Yukon, pull 6500 lb. boat no problem I have the big motor.pulling trailer with two atv's dont even know Im towing.avg 15 mpg its 4x4 its the wifes everyday driver.

ah heck just monster garage a 69 VW bus onto a Subaru Forrester /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love our Dodge Durango. We have hte old one with the 5.8 liter V-8...awesome engine, lots of room, excellent ground clearance. I bought the new one too, with the hemi. Also great, a little bit fancier for the wife...but still great.

The Durango's aren't as bulky and big as the bigger SUV's, but are just as powerful!

Love em!
