swarovski rangefinder?

I got some great feedback on here about the Leica, Zeiss and Bushnell, and after looking thru several today and talking to a salesman I've decided against the Bushnell. But I ran across a Swaro for a great price, almost half off the $999 retail. Anybody use these, or can compare them in the real world to the Leica? I'm comparing the 1500 yard Swaro to the 1600 yard Leica.

Thanks!

ive used my buddies new crf1600 leica and have owned an older 6 or 800 leica and loved it. the optics are great. there are lots of debates about leica vs swaro and im pretty sure swaro wins hands down. if you don't want it for half of 999.00 let me know. id be interested

Thanks, I've done a lot of searching tonight and the reviews are all really good except for people saying that the reticle in the rangefinder is too large, but it consistently ranges objects further than any other according to a lot of the reviews I read. I'm thinking I'm going to get it.

Have the swaro and love it. Glass is sharp enough and easy on the eyes to double up for binocs in most situations as well.

I've worked mine out to slightly over 1900 yards without a hiccup on rocks, trees, buildings, elk, bear, pretty much whatever you point it at, under 2000 yards, your going to get a reading.

Would not even compare the leica to a swaro in terms of ranging capability or glass.

I was at a Cabellas this weekend both on Saturday and Sunday. My buddy that has been helping me out and getting me into coyote hunting has been telling my how good the optics are on the Swaro spotting scopes and binocs also. We stoped at the optics counter and he pulled out a $1900 pair of binocs that use to be $2200 or $2300. I was looking through them and could see a sale sign that read $11.99 from at least 100yds away that looked like a dot from where we were standing. I have heard they have the best glass when it comes to optics. I will have to say that I believe them. Not only that. Swaro has stores in malls that sell fancy glass jewlery and glass art type stuff. It is some hight dollar stuff. I have heard that it could be darn near dark out and if you look through the Swaro glass in and optic that it looks like day light. Take my words how you will. This is what i have heard and what I have experienced. If I could afford that type of stuff myself I would most deff have Swaro all the way.

Swarovski binos and scopes are tough to beat. However, I have heard that the Leupold rangefinders are a better bang for your buck.

I owned the Swaro LED and it was an awesome unit. It would range just about everything. The furthest reading I got with my unit was 1,999yds and that was on a white barn during the evening. The glass is outstanding. Before I got into high end binos, I would use my unit for glassing in now and fun season.

My Leica 1200 is a super nice unit as well. I like how small and compact it is. The glass is excellent as well, but it doesn't compare to the Swaro. My Leica will range well out to 1000-1100yds. I prefer my Leica to Swaro just because of the size.

I sold my Swaro because I was going to buy a Leica 1600 when they first came, but never did buy one to play with it.

Can't go wrong with the Swaro...

I've got a "midgrade" Lupy range finder & it's CRAP. Well... I guess it would be OK for bow hunting. It struggles to range anything nonreflective past 500 yards. Glass was very disapointing as well.

CameraLand has som Lieca 1600 demo's for a decent price. I plan to have a pair soon.

i own alot of leupolds and would never buy there rangefinders. hook me up with this swaro deal i'll buy them for a good price

I have a Leupold for the last three years paid 200+. It works fine. It does bow and gun. It tell me what angle I am shooting out of a tree stand. If you have the money Swarovski's are great. I own three of their scopes.

Buy it, I wanted one but was to cheap, my buddy bought one, and like superseal said it ranges very reliably. Well worth the money
