Sweet's 7.62 and Stainless Barrels?

I used Sweats for years in SS target rifle barrels; just follow the instructions on the bottle and it will work fine.

Recently, however, I have switched to Wipeout foam. Don't know what is in it, but it works better than anything I have tried, and I've tried it all (well, almost) over the years.

Wipeout contains no ammonia and eliminates bore scrubbing. It has almost no odor. Simply fill the bore w/foam and let it sit overnight. Dry patch and give it a second dose. If there is no long term accumulation, the 2nd dose is usually unnecesary.

The only time Sweet's becomes harmful is if it is mixed with Shooters Choice. Even trace amounts of Shooters Choice in a barrel can make Sweet's be corrosive.

I like Sweets, it'll open up your nasal passages as well as get the copper out.

It will make a cat get out of your loading room. I still don't know how my wife's cat got that patch stuck to its nose. Wife didn't think it was funny.

I was breaking in a new 22-250 barrel with my son at a local range. I was using sweets at every cleaning and my boy got ahold of the bottle to smell it. I told him to be careful and being a teenager he put it under his nose and squeezed. The next thing I hear this high pitched scream as he shot sweets up his nose. I had one hard time slowing him down and getting him to rinse his sinus with some saline for contacts, then he is mad thinking I let it happen on purpose. But he has learned how to smell things without snorting it up his nose.

That there IS funny! I squirted some on a huge "Bull" thistle one time and within 20 minutes the thistle was as black as the Sweets bottle.
