SWFA SS Scopes

Good glass, very repeatable adjustments, great value as far as I am concerned. I have the 16x on one of my rifles and it is the real deal for my prairie dog shooting.

I used one for some testing a couple of years ago and was very impressed with the glass and its functioning was flawless.
For an affordable and reliable long range optic it would be a good choice.
I do not own one but would not be afraid to buy one.

I haven't looked at them in about a year or so, the last time I checked...they were about to release the variable power ones and the HD's, so it's been a while. They are "good" but in my opinion they are overpriced for the quality you get. I'm not knocking anything other than the price, The quality is definately there, just needs to be about $100 cheaper.

I owned & used a 20x quite a few yrs ago. I don't know if the MFG changed anything since. But the scope I had. The windage & elevation posts were [smooth brass]. Et the windage/elevation target knob sets screws, would work loose.

Other than that. It is a good scope. Very clear & sharp optics.

I own 3 of the 10X models, They are mounted on heavy barrel Sendero's, they are very tough and repeatable scopes and worth every penny, probably the Best scope for the buck out there. The glass is clear and the mildots are very easy to see in low light,so they can be used as holdover subtension marks if you get your zero to jive with the dots, that is if you dont want to spin turrets

I've owened 2. The 3X9 FFP is great on a AR. Plus the CS is top notch. You wont be unhappy.
As a mateer of fact, I'am thinking of getting the 10x HD.

I can't like the turrets much on the ones I've owned/handled. Very "mushy" feeling to me. On the one I had, the windage turret was audible, but the elevation turret wasn't. I think the optics are so-so. Not great, but not crappy. I agree with Chupa, they are priced a bit high for what you get, IMO.....

My experience/opinion is basicaly the same as 2muchgun's; I own a SS20X.You also might want to buy a couple sunshades; a lot of "whiteout" in any amount of sunlight. My (Midway) Mil-Dot 6-18X40 Nikon Buckmaster is as much if not more scope for $300: better glass, 1/8" clicks, tall turrets w/extra (target) knobs, sunshade, and several ounces lighter. A tendency toward "tunnel vision" is one negative compared to the rather "spacious" f.o.v. of the SS, and the rear focus on the SS is kind of neat; it'll also focus down closer than the Nikon if that's an issue.
