SWIFT SCOPES

I was at the Richmond VA Gun Show today and was looking at some Swift scopes. According to the prices, these aren't El Cheapo's. But where do they rank among other brands. We all know Leopold is the top and BSA is at or near the bottom where do these scopes fall in comparision?

If they are not as good as Leupold I don`t care where they rank because I won`t buy one. I can see no use to buy a scope and then replace it because it don`t work right and end up with more money in scopes than you would have had if you would have just bought a Leupold in the first place. I don`t mean to sound brash, but I just can`t see buying junk when you can get the best for just alittle more.

Are Swift's as good as a Leupold or Nikon? Probably not. But, believe it or not, some knowlegeable gun folks think so. For a quality scope at half (or less) the price of Leupold, with an over the counter replacement guarantee, Swift scopes are an exceptional value. They are no frills and you are not paying for a corporate advertising budget. I own 3 of them. They do everything and more for what I need. I use the money I saved for camo, ammo, etc etc..

Thanks to all for the opinions. Thanks alot Doug, that makes sense and I didn't realize the over-the-counter replacement policy.

Mega Dittos on what Doug Bethe said. I've got several Swift scopes and they have served me well with no failures.

I own 1 Swift scope and enjoy it. I have top end and low end, And I would have to say swift ranks right on up there with my top end. It may not be as pretty as my Leupold. but the clairity (sp) is pretty close. Swift started by making medical optics. just a interesting little point. I would buy another one at the drop of a hat. Enjoy

I've only ever had one Swift scope and I didn't like it at all. I could never get focused right so the crosshair's were always blurry on target. In all fairness to the brand it was about 14 years ago that I bought it for around $30

I have 3 ea #656 Swift 3-9X40 and paid $89.95 each plus tax at my dealer here in town. One each on my NEF SB2 223, Ruger M77 MKII 25-06, and Savage 10FP 223.

I looked at 3 Swifts today and was impressed by their clarity and briteness and I held them up side by side with both leupolds and Bushnell elite 4200's. I know I po'ed the counter guy.lol
What turned me off was the plastic saddle that the turrets are mounted in.
I think their Premier line are all one piece. I think I'll go ahead and place one of their 4x12 Premiers on backorder, they seem to be out of stock everywhere I check.
BTW, to my eye the Bushnell 3200/4200's seemed much brighter than the Leupolds I looked through today, imo.

My local dealer just quoated me a price of $115.00 for a #674M that he had in stock. He is checking on a price for a #656. Anybody have experience with the 674?

Just an observation, I am a member of about 20 forums,I shoot A lot, and I get tired of LEUPOLD or die!

Give me a break, I killed a deer in heavy cover, in all kinds of weather with a dang $14.99 Leapers SKS scope on a 30/30! 5 years in a row. Ya' think those deer were offended that I didn't use a $400.00 scope?
I spent the time to go thru a bunch of current and old posts and the number 1 complaint I see is the amount of trouble people have with;
LEUPOLD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
If these things are the end all of American scope brands, why are so many sent back for service?
