Swig kilo2000 thoughts?

Ok I have a sig kilo2000. I was out shooting long range targets yesterday with a couple buddies they had g7 range finder set the plates up with there’s. Anyways mine wouldn’t pick up a white steel 8” plate at 600 yards. Was a tin building proably 12x10 or so that it wouldn’t pick up that was a little closer then the 600 yard plate. Any ideas I thought these range finders weee so great. So wish I would have just bought a Leica.
 
I have a SigK2000 and it works pretty well. I have not had any issues ranging out to 600 yards on smallish targets, it seems to be a decent unit. However EuroOptics has the Leica 2000-B on sale for $399 so I have one coming my way. I am curious to see how they do side by side ranging.
 
Tried a different battery. Ranged a white metal shop that was 700 yards it said but then it wouldn’t pick up the house which was closer. A road sign that was closer then the house wouldn’t read either. Called and talked to sig I’m sending it in they gave me a return label. There going to look at it and if there is something wrong with it they will send a new kilo 2200.

I have used the Sig 2000 and the Leica 1600 side by side a few times and the Sig held its own on ranging. + or - to about a yard. The big difference was in the glass. The Sig has a distinct blue tint to it and the Leica just kills it, at least to my eyes. Brightness and clarity were quite a bit nicer in the Leica. With prices being similar, currently the Leica is on sale, the choice is a no brainer to me, get a Leica. At normal prices when the sig is almost 50% less, the choice isn't so easy because the Sig does work fine.
 
I have the 800 and it will range reflective things at 600 no problem.

Have not really used other ranger finders, but the optics on the 800 are terrible. Similar to a 50 dollar simmons rimfire scope. Its like you have sunglasses on.
 
I have a Leica 1200 and also a Kilo 2000. Both work just great. However, I usually use the Kilo 2000. I like the continuous scan so I can move from object to object and get continuous readings. I don't range metal gongs or buildings, I use mine to range prairie dogs/mounds. One of these days I will use it on a coyote calling foray.

My personal opinion, get the leica at that price, they are just good to look through and fast. Of course budget is often the deciding factor.
