I tend to prefer a nice wood stock usually, it just feels right to me, maybe because thats all i grew up shooting. Wood is also more appealing IMO. That being said, there are some pretty good synthetic and composite stocks out there that will get the job done very well. Quick story; I had a Savage and Rem 700 both in .308, the Savage with a "cheap" syn stock and the Remmy with a nice wood lam stock. Same load, 10 twist, barrel length etc. and the Savage was a superior shooter, not by too much, but still despite the "cheap" feeling stock. I am however alot more cautious with my wood stocks and try not to ding them up too bad, i suppose thats the only con i can think of. Try them both and see which one feels better to you. 35R.
