On the presumed stiffness advantage of a short action... you could just build it on a 98 Mauser action... kind of heavy, kind of big... but just as sturdy as any short action you're likely to find. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I already have the action. I am planning on using a Savage 110 in 30.06 that I have in the safe and scrapping the barrel.
