Tanning? Yes or No?

After skinning, fleshing, and stretching the pelt with boards will it last. Or should I tan the pelt also. Not to familiar with tanning, so I am not really sure what to do if I do it.
 
It will last until sold. If you are planning to keep it for a wall hanger you will have to tan it or get it tanned.
