Anyone use one of these and have had good luck? Mine is a mil-dot style and will not keep a zero at all. First it moves right and then left. Its on my .223 so I know its not the recoil. Has costed me 2 coyotes in the last week.

Tasco scopes are a waste of time and money. You will just cause yourself more headache trying to get it to hold any kind of zero. I owned a few of them when I was a kid , and have never had one worth the money spent. Go ahead and get a good quality scope , like Nikon or the other more exspensive brands.

On the other hand I've had an 8 by 32 power variable target dot Tasco for six years now and it's been on all my rifles for accuracy testing. It's even been on the 8mm Rem mag with no problems. It is one of the Japanese made scopes though. Bought it for 75 bucks at a pawn shop and it's a great scope. It's the one that's on my 204 in my avatar.

Spears though has a good point about buying quality, Nikon and Leupold work well, are bright and clear and have an exceptional warrentee. I doubt that I would buy a new Tasco today.

If your looking for a good scope on a budget I've found the Cabela's Pine ridge scopes seem to work very well and they start out at $70.00 for their 2 by 7 models. They have a very good warrentee also. I've put more than 20 on different center fire and rimfire rifles. Only had one bad one and they replaced it very quickly at no cost to me.

My ex father in law bought this for me and I have never liked Tasco in the first place. Went to a friends last night and he put a Burris on for me. We checked the bore sight of the Tasco and the reticles hadn't even moved from where he had set them in the beginning. Now I have to start from square one on the re-sighting of the Burris but have confidence this one will work.

I have had Tascos since the 70s, never had any issues with them ever. I still have a 4x32 WV and a 3-9x40 thats performed flawlessly for 30+ years in all weather.
I have a newer 6-18x44 mil dot on one of my varmint rigs for the last 3 years, been a perfect scope like the others no issues.
