Taurus Millennium...

does anybody know if the chamber is fully supported? Me and my boy are thinking of getting one in 45ACP. plans are for carry, but for shooting we want to reload for it, thanks.

I had one in a 40 SW. It was picky on ammo and had several fail to feeds. Not a gun I would choose as a carry weapon. I traded it for a SW M&P compact and have never had it to fail to function with any ammo. The Smith also shoots much better as far as groups. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad gun for plinking and I carried it in the woods, it just wasn't a gun I wanted to bet my life on so I upgraded.

I own one in .40 cal and I also owned a 24/7 in 9mm. I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with the millenium. And funny enough the 24/7 was a great shooting and accurate gun. I dont really remember now why I got rid of it, but it wasnt because it wasnt a good gun.

As for the .40 millenium, I have never had any issues with it, but with that said I dont care for the trigger pull and it is slightly bigger than my Glock 27 so I always end up carrying the glock instead. Also, the taurus' although I like their newer guns, are always hard to sell if you ever need to sell it. But over all I think they are good guns. I know most wont agree with me but I dont how much of their opinion is based on life experience. If it is what you can afford, then go for it !! Its better than being un armed!

The millenium pro has supposedly ironed out some of the issues, but the old mill. had quite a few unhappy people. Some of my lgs wouldn't carry them, those that did wouldn't help with getting them back to the factory after a while because they saw so many come back. I used to have a pic of a gun store sign that said if you buy it don't bother bringing it back.

It definitely didn't do anything to improve opinions on taurus' quality. Frames cracking with regular loads was one of the biggies if I remember right.

No personal experience, taurus is one of my plan to never buy makes.

The m&p would be a much better choice. The compact groups just as well as the full size and the full size mag works very well in the compact. Mine are in .40 and close to 3500rds through them without any problems. blue
