I've sold a bunch, and I can say I would not own one of their revolvers. However, some of their auto's are okay. The 92's and the 24/7 seem to be fairly reliable.
Be sure and get a good price, resale isn't very good.
If you can't get a good deal, save your pennies for a glock or spgfld xd. You'll be money head in the longrun.

That is the link to the exact one I'm looking at, It is a 92 series 9mm.

What is the problems with them?

I think that for the money, they are great. Lifetime warrantee is hard to beat. I keep an ultralite .38 Special in my car for just in case situations. I have a fine .44 Special 5 shot (looks a lot like a M66 Smith and Wesson) that carries like a 4" .38 Special but hits MUCH harder, I also have an early M44 .44 Mag that has had thousands and thousands of rounds fired though it that I would NOT like to shoot through my S&W M29 but this gun handles them easily. I even have a cute little 2" J frame sized gun that holds 9 shots of .22lr that will dance a pop can WAY out there if you can hold on it right. So yeah, I got a few Taurus guns and I likes them see? You wanna make sumpin outta it? Huh? Do you?

I belive they are better now then they were years ago. I have had one or two in the last 5 years and they were nice shooting revolvers. The lifetime warranty is great IF you dont spend a lifetime having it repaired. I have not had any problems with the ones i have had. A few other guys i know have had them and really like them. I my self if i was getting one for carry i would go with a kimber 1911 glock. That one you have your eye on sure has some bling on it.

Taurus used to be a second tier manufacturer. I no longer believe that to be true. I think their line can now be judged , apples to apples, with S&W, Springfield, Glock, etc.

Thanks guys!
It's purtty,..

There is no paperwork or anything goin on it or any others yet I'm still looking around. But I've seen that one a few times now.. it manges to make me raise an eyebrow every time.

Personally I'd put Taurus above S&W in revolver quality/QC if we are using a tier status.
The newer Taurus revolver triggers feel like something from the S&W performance shop.
Taurus has not gone through their production process trying to figure out how they can cut costs like S&W has. Look at the new S&W revolvers...closely. Notice that the ejector fingers are differrent lengths? This is so they can cut it from a square piece of steel.. trying to reduce scrap and decrease production time. With ejector fingers of differrent lengths the long fingers are more likely to bend because of unequal pressure on the spent/stuck cartridges. If they bend you firearm is immediately non-functioning as the cylinder wont do back in the frame.

... should I go on??

I HAD one in that model in 357 sig. I'll give you my positives and negatives.

First the negatives. The trigger is very heavy being a double action auto loader. Accuracy was not very good with targets set at 25 yds. I suspect my barrel needed to be replaced since I bought the handgun used. The size was just a bit too big for concealed carry, but some people dont mind carrying a full size 1911.

The positives. Take down is super easy. Sights are nice. It feels good in the hand. You can cock it to shoot SA.

Overall not a bad handgun, but I sold mine because: The trigger is too heavy and the accuracy is not very good. Try to take the handgun out and test fire it before purchasing. If you do that should determine if its the handgun for you.

Good luck and have fun.

I use the pt1911 as a carry gun. I have had it for 2 1/2 years, and probably around 5000 rounds through it. The bad is that the bluing has been wearing off but that is to be expected from a carry weapon. Also for one of the two magazines it came with it will sometimes stovepipe on the last round. Not a big deal since I don't carry spare mags.

Had a .38 Revolver. Never had any problems with it. I do think they have improved their quality in the past few years, so I have read, I dont own one anymore and wouldnt mind one as a gift but wont spend my money on one.
