I have a quick question for anyone who has purchased a suppressor before. I am in Minnesota and this is my firts suppressor purchase. I went the trust route, purchased my suppressor from a dealer, sent off my paperwork. Question is, who receives the stamp, me or the dealer? And is this an actual stamp, or just some kind of a card? And, can I laminate the stamp, so it is protected better?

Your dealer, will receive the actual approved form 4 with the stamp... When you get it from them, be sure and make copies preferably 1/2 or 1/4 size then laminate them.

That's good to hear. I have kids who usually check my mail, and half the times I find my bill's a week latet. Lol. So I've been on the kids case to not check the mail until I get home.

You can make them similar to laminated cards, more rigid, smaller, easier to put in glove compartment, range bags, gun cases etc.

I scanned the trust and the stamp. Shrunk it down to 1/4 size to go with me at all times. They don't need to read it, just see that you have it. Tell them to get a magnifying glass if they need to read it.

Has anyone been checked before if they have the stamp? And by whom? Local law, game wardens, etc. Because I recently talked with a sherif deputy and he didn't have a clue as to the legalities concerning suppressor ownership, or if one needs a stamp. After I explained that suppressors became legal in our state, which he didn't know where illegal to own, he said he now wants to get one.

Always check everything before you do it, especially if you are uninformed on the subject. Call a dealer in your state, the ones who do the paperwork, I've heard of gamewardens telling people they are illegal, and they weren't, I've also heard many stories of CLEO's not signing off on the form 4.
