Coldnosed- is that a shoulder mount?? Never seen a yote shoulder mounted...

I am new to this coyote calling thing. This is only the second coyote that I have shot. The other being shot while deer hunting so I don't really count it. I called this one up at about 9am on the first set of the morning(first time out this season). I was sitting in a large sinkhole in a picked cornfield about 200 yards from a large woods. I was facing north with the wind blowing from the west. This was the only way I could set up due to the lay of the land and the permission that I had to hunt. I put a friend in the fenceline to my east so that if anything circled down wind he would see it coming. I started calling with a couple of howles. No response of any kind. Then I turned on the electric caller with a woodpecker distress a couple of times. Then a couple of rounds on a rabbit distress by Dan Thompson and she show up right in front of me at the edge of the woods about 200 yards away. She just sat there for a little bit so I did a little lip squeak and she started my way only circling to the east to try to catch a wind. At about 125 yards or so I let out a bark to stop her and bang. She started spinning in circles and then took off. I was in shock that she took off and just sat there and watched for a second. I stood up and readied for another shot at about 250 yards running and rolled her right there. That is the furtherest I have ever shot anything running.
I didn't know Matuska's did mounts for people, I thought it was just a school. I will look into that, thanks.

As a Taxidermist my advice to you is by all means get recomendations,but take the time to check the work of each taxidermist out first. It will save you alot of aggravation and regrets. Decide on how much you're willing to spend and get the pose, attitude and quality you want.You'll be looking at the piece for a long time to come and you may never get another Black Dog. Pay the price, get the best and be willing to wait for quality work.

Stoney15 would be a priveledge to mount that coyote for ya. I do quite a bit of taxidermy as a hobby and do a good job, at least I think so. Give me your email if you want and I could send you some pics of things I have done and let me know, that is if you haven't already found one. Later Cody

Cottonfoot thanks for the offer. Are you able to make full scenes with snow and such. Where in Iowa are you located? And last do you have and pictures of other coyotes that you have done that you can email me.
