i recently baught a 12fv in the 243 and love it already, other than its a lil heavy and long, not nessearily bad things, its a great rifle, and being a college student myself the price was a big decideing point.
I have the Savage 22-250 12FV that I coyote hunt with. It is a tack driver. My only complaint is the weight (8.75#)....it is heavy and the barrel is long. But I walk a long distance when I hunt, and I may hunt all day (dawn to dusk). I carry it with a sling and I notice that it starts to get heavy on my shoulder after a while. If I had it to do over again, I would probably go with the Savage 10 Predator. It's 1.5# lighter and the barrel is 4" shorter. I'm probably going to buy a Stevens 200 in .223 (6.75#) for those "long walk" and "all day" hunts.
