TC Omega ?

knockemdown

New member
Hey Gents,
I recently mounted a scope up for a friend on his TC Omega. The problem is that clearance to the hammer is minimal.
Question....is there a hammer extension made specifically for the Omega?
I've searched around the web & could not find any available...

Your help is appreciated!

Fred

Be careful...T/C does not recommend you add a hammer spur to their rifles. It will slow the hammer speed down and you will get MISFIRES.

Every forum question with misfires on a T/C rifles are caused by the addition of hammer spurs. If you add one make sure it is aluminum as it is lighter and try it.

This is why T/C added the swing hammer to the T/C Pro hunter this year as to eliminate the problem.

Also T/C will be doing a factory conversion of the standard
Encore's to the newer swing hammer for $50.00

Maybe for 2007 they will offer a swing hammer system for the Omega rifle and then offer a conversion for it.

I am not aware of any after market heavy hammer springs for the Omega Rifle.

I had the same problem with my Encore muzzleloader. The scope is right on the barrel. I bought the hammer extension from bass pro and it was worthless. I sent it back. I ended up buying one from this guy who makes them and sells them on ebay. In face, I bought two for both of my encores. They work great! So far, I haven't had any misfires.

The way the block on the Omega works a hammer extension wouldn't work. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

HES RIght i forgot about the drop block; /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Omega, Omega....he's talking about an Omega. I have one and I don't think you can fit an extension on it with the drop.

Wondered about one for myself. I just tolerate it and and sqeak my thunb between the hammer and its scope. Never thought about not having enough spank behind the hammer with the additional weight.

Yikes!
that is what I feared about the Omega....thanks for clarifying fellas. It's going to be a tight squeeze to [beeep] it, especially with gloves on. I may have to re-mount the scope with higher rings for my friend if it is a problem for him.

I do have a Bellm hammer extension on my own Encore and it is great...stays on tight. The other one I had kept shooting loose when shooting 150grs.

thanks for the replies!

Got me the same one and same problem. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Not that matters but, you only have to co$k it once! After that all bets are off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
