Trying to teach the lathe some new tricks. Tell me what you think.

These are slate over glass. The two on the left are Imbuia. The top right is Afromosia and the bottom right is Sucopira. Bottom two aren't finished yet.

Strikers are Sassafrass, Granadillo, and Maple. Center is acrylic with a gunstock laminate top. Last 3 are hickory dowels with tops of Walnut, Leopard wood and Purple heart.

Here is a link to a sound file of the top left call using the mushroom tip maple striker.

What do you think? Am I on the right track ?? Dale

Right track? I think you are done with the race! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Those look great, I like the pot on the bottom right! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif The pegs are VERY nice as well! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

The pots look good, but sound is everything. Get ahold of Tim Sandford or Wendell Rye and run them over the phone for them. When they say you've got it right, you've hit the BIGTIME!
