I have a v-24. I have shot my uncles 2 v16 extensively. I have also had the 2-7 rimfire. I have also had slightly more expensive scopes like sightron big sky sII, bushnell 4200, and vx3. The v24 goes to poop after 18x, so a v16 is actually better as you get a more forgiving eye relief. Even the 2-7 rimfire is plenty. I can pick out a tiny little brush rabbit at over 100 yards before legal shooting hours. Yeah, the other scopes have a slightly better image, but the v series is close. For the average joe, I think 300-500 can get you all the scope you need. I started with cheaper scopes like mueller, but there was a lot to be gained with the weaver. You have to start wondering sometimes; would you be better served with a new gun/scope, or spending that money on more ammo and range time?
