Wow. I told someone a while back that predator calling was the bowhunting of the 21st cnetury - that very few guys hunted with a bow years ago and look at it now. When I first started calling coyotes, there were very few of my ilk. Now look at it. My name is Lance Homman. I'm 36 years old and married with one boy (10) and a girl(2). To pay the bills, I work for Uncle Sam. But to really live, I am a taxidermist and freelance outdoor writer, having contributed regularly to Trapper & Predator Caller, American Trapper, Trappers World, Fur Taker, and Buckmasters. Like many of you, I hunt just about anything I can find the time to pursue, but I tell people that I don't hunt anything that can't hunt me back! Like a few of you, I've got a strong background in hunting and the outdoors as a third-generation wolfer here in Kansas, I've got a degree in wildlife biology and focused most of my energy on predator ecology, namely developmental behavior of raptors. Coyote hunting started for me at the ripe old age of three while strapped onto the seat of my dad's dog wagon. Since then, I've taken coyotes by coursing with greyhounds, running them with trucks and rifles, trail hounds, traps, snares, on horseback and tracking them in the snow. But, after all the dust is cleared, nothing stirs my soul like that first sight of a coyote or bobcat coming for dinner. Glad to be here and to have found this wonderful forum. Especially looking forward to rubbing elbows with folks that are just as nutty as me.
