Nope not kidding. You can drag them threw [beeep] and back load them and still hit the target. I never said they were pretty but if you look at what the Fins did with them you will gain a good respect for them.

Just considering their years of military service and their widespread use, there had to be a few good things about them that apparently escapes some folks' recognition.....

I guess I am going to be the referee/umpire...

So, for the list, I have several that keep repeating... ANd, therefore I think have made the list...

1)Winchester Model 94 in .30-30

2)Colt 1911 in .45ACP

3)Winchester Mdl 70 Pre-64 in .270 or .30-06

4)Mauser 98 in 7X57

(these may change in their order to establish "the best of the best...but that is a later argunment..LOL)

This leaves six places to go, and lots of possibles... So, keep posting or repost the six you think should be listed, or argue to take one or more off from the above four...


We don't have a shotgun (or two or more) yet... But, they has been a lot of support for the Mdl 12, the 870 and the 37... Will an OU or SS make the list?

In my opinion after the first four, there were two very close to being included in the first group, the 10/22 and tghe Rem 700... Any agreement, disagreement?

Geeez no love for browning?...the bar,BMG, model 12 shotgun?....SOMEBODY IS TURNING IN THE GRAVE...and wow on that mossberg 500.

Yeah I think the rem 700 is pretty close to making the final list. We really need a shotgun or 2. We need some more voters.
 
Okay....

I went back over the posts and think with the last couple that maybe we can add a shotgun...

So, so far, five have made the preliminary list:

1)Winchester Model 94 in .30-30

2)Colt 1911 in .45ACP

3)Winchester Mdl 70 Pre-64 in .270 or .30-06

4)Mauser 98 in 7X57

5)Winchester Model 12 in 12 ga (the other gauges as well)


Here's how I see this shaking out... When the "prelininary list of ten" is reached then the "arguments" can begin (LOL)... somebody will have to argue one off and something onto the list... and argue for rearranging the "order" of 1-10... P.S. Someone thought Browning was not getting his due? Three out of 5...
