The best 223 rifle

another vote for tikka. i have the t-3 lite. simply awesome. best bang for your buck. i paid 519 for mine. accurate, lite, and built to hunt with. the trigger makes this gun a step above the rest.

i used to be a remington man, not any more. my next rifle will be a tikka.

if money is no object get the sako. i think they are both made by the same company. for comparison purposes tikka would be like the toyota and sako would be the lexus. basically, the same but more detail in the sako.

for what it is worth i had to narrow my choices down between the cz and tikka too. either way you won't go wrong. hint, hint get the tikka. you'll love it.

good luck,

I just like the way my CZ Varminter fits my hands. Everyone that handles it comments how the stock just pushes your hand towards the trigger. It is a "little" heavy but I love the way it shoots. Good Luck with your decision.

if you want light and accurate, look no further than the cz 527. This is the best carry 223 that I have ever owned...I have the "american" in a wood stock and sporter barrel and it easily shoots with my bushmaster varminter.

I had a Tikka in 308, it was a very nice rifle, but never one in 223, I sold it.

I would also give the nod to the Tikka T3. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I don't think you can go wrong either way so go pick them both up and see how they feel for you.

Because this is about YOU and not us.

If you go Tikka you can still put some American on top with a nice Leupold. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I love my tikka .223 for its accuracy, its lines, its fit and finish. I have not found a bullet that this doesnt like yet. From 45gr hps, to 62 grain fmj, From winchester, remington, hornady, federal, wolf. They all shoot the same. It blew me away. If you were to look at my targets after i get done you would have thought i was shooting the same ammo all day long. They all group almost exactly the same size group and almost in the exact same spot. I just ordered my second tikka in a 25-06 for yotes and deer. And for the guys that are saying sako, the tikka is made by sako with the same action and barrel.

Bushmaster Varminter. Most accurate .223 I have ever owned, bar none! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif This group was shot by a friend of mine, that is a benchrest shooter. He said it was the most accurate sporting firearm he had ever shot!

Check out the Weatherby Vanguard Varmint Special it has a heavy 22in barrel, so its not so huge and for around $470 new. Also in my neck of the woods you can pick up the new Ruger All weather in .223 for about the same $.

Is there a picture of this online?

For those who dislike the hanging magazine on the CZ527, here is the good news. Jerry's Sports just posted the sale of the CZ527 with flush magazine. It holds only three rounds though.

So, there you go....hang on for a little longer and who knows CZ may modify the current funky backward safety to our American taste....But then price may be in the $600 by that time...lol.

I paid only $380 for my CZ527 American new in box this time last year.
