The camo Stock

Hey fellas,

I've read the article on how one is to go about making the rifle stock camo at home.

I have a question about starting.

My rifle has the old black synthetic stock on it right now. I was wondering if the basic black synthetic stock needs to be sanded down.

As i understand there is no paint on this stock. I just need to know if i have to sand or can i just start the painting process after the stock has been cleaned of any oil and dirt.

Thanks,
Joe

P.S. I got antelope season the first of October so hurry with those answers!

If it's real slick, I would go ahead and knock off the shine with some fine sandpaper. Otherwise, follow the instructions on the Tech section of this board and go for it!
