Well with all said. I hope Mspingy's dream comes true and the world ends, or jesus comes back and all you crazies get to sing "kum bay ya" or some other kool-aid prophecy comes to fruition.
jwp--I don't get into this stuff with you, but calling guys on this board "crazies" and mocking their (and my) religions is way out of line. I can only speak for myself, but I'd guess that a few others are probably of a similar mindset to what I'm thinking and about to write.
From the way you write and form 'arguments', I'm guessing you are young and possibly still in school. I'm 43 and I'd guess if there were data collected, you'd see the average PM member's age to be 35+, but that's just a wild guess. Point is we're older than you and therefore have had more life experience. Ageist? Yes. True? Yes.
Your arguments, your tone, your underlying assumptions about American tradition, custom and the judeo-christian values upon which we were founded are way, way off. I don't know if you sucked it up from your liberal teachers, parents or whomever, but we've all seen it before. You're nothing new, pal.
Change some of the details in your posts and I remember you and your pals from 1970. And '75. And '80, etc., etc. You are nothing new to many of us, been there, done that.
When a young person gets a hold on new ideas or knowledge it is novel and since it is new to them they just assume they've discovered the greatest thing in the world and that no one else knows about it. I remember going to a political meeting in college and a guy there and I were talking and he mentions: 'Well, ya know, we're NOT a democracy, see. We're a REPUBLIC!" Wow, for some reason I thought I'd really learned a hard-hitting argument and I was ready to go slay liberal dragons with it. It didn't seem to work as I'd expected and my Dad ended up telling me that it was a pretty old line and not terribly profound. He educated me.
My point? A lot of your stuff is just the recycled America-sucks, Christianity's bad, radicalist garbage we've been hearing from the socialists for 40+ years. We've heard it all before, it isn't new to us.
Finally, when you say "all you crazies" to the men here you need to get a grip, buddy. There are lots of people on here who you aren't probably ever going to measure up to--definitely not if you keep your current attitude. There are guys here from LE and other first-responders who actually save people's lives. There are TONS of vets who put up with hot, cold, hunger, indescribable lack of sleep, and a host of other misery, including seeing good men die, to defend your right to sit and spout your hate-filled bile over your keyboard.
There are guys here who work for a living, often long, hard hours, to feed their families, they are proud and wouldn't rely on their community--through legal government theft called taxation--to assume their responsibility, ever! Blue collar, white collar, guys who work as virtual slaves until April's 'tax freedom day,' the point of the year where one's earnings pass the amount that will go to taxes--the money the man 'gets' to keep (imagine, 'gets' to keep the fruits of his toil).
What's wrong with this country is guys like you who want to tear it down and put in place some freedom robbing socialist system based on your subjective view of right and wrong.
In earlier times society had ordeals and challenges boys had to overcome before they were 'officially' considered men. We've done away with that and the Feminists have their influence on public policy to further crush the mere noting of a boy transitioning into a man (I'm not talking about biology). We still have a few despite the Left. Trial by combat is one. We take the young guys returning home from Iraq, etc., as men b/c they've earned it through their actions. Deeds, not words. Even just being a good husband, dad, and working hard can gain that respect from other men.
Friend, you come off as a shrill little mamma's boy if you think you can call people in here names and mock their faith. You don't agree with someone, fine, but be polite and respectful. You are probably addressing your elder and better.
I hope you make something of yourself and get your act together. Change your attitude and outlook and you might grow up and become honorable. Currently you are on a horrible path.
Instead of PO'ing guys here you should use this site to network with some experienced older guys and thereby learn a little more about calling and life.
