The other properties we went to I’ve been hunting for a while, I just went to some of my old setups, I was saving that ground and area for a different hunt though. Early Friday night we were tied with another team with 5, by the end of the first night we had a good lead

Our southrn Nevada coyotes have no ticks or fleas. At least none that I've seen or have gotten on me.
Jack rabbits are covered in ticks though.
Funny story, many years ago i went hunting in Alberta, Canada. Went out to retrieve a coyote and slung it over my shoulder like i had done many times at home. Albertacoyote caller and Redfrog were laughing at me when i got back to the truck and i couldn't figure out why. Needless to say i was picking fleas off my clothes and out of my beard for the next couple days.
 
Everyone should shoot one javelina. I'm a slow learner, I guess, as it took me two or three before I realized they all are covered w/fleas in S. Tx. Once learned, I did shoot one a year as a favor to the ranch gate guard as he always asked for one to make Thanksgiving tamales from.
I always shot the javelina and hung it on the outside chair on the back of the jeep to be sure the fleas didn't jump off inside. One year my son was down for Thanksgiving and I shot a javelina. My son was riding the chair on the way in. I never dreamed the fleas would manage to get to him on the very short ride to the gate, but jump they did. Never underestimate the power of a flea! :oops: I've never heard the end of that one.

probably the biggest problem hunting here is the size of farms or property to hunt. 15 acres- 40 acres is the average and they're all strung out in different directions. The largest farm I hunt is 100 acres. Public land is over run and dare not go on a weekend, between the hunters and the hound dogs.
