I've been eyeing up the 10x NF for a hunting rifle. Maybe someday..

Those speed have me optimistic! I'm planning either 22 or 24". I'd like to hit 2900 or higher with a 130 Berger. I think I should be good...

That's a heck of a build there. Very well done.

Thank you for all the kind words gentlemen, I really do appreciate them. I am very happy with the way this rifle turned out as I am with all my Gradous rifles. Although, I have to say, it was pretty nerve racking during the long waiting period. I pondered many times, calling Mr. Gradous throughout the process to extend the barrel finish length to at least 22" to attain a certain velocity. I am so to speak, glad I stuck to my guns and went through with the original plan since I was able to achieve that velocity and then some!!

I thought about equipping the rifle with a compact NXS 2.5-10x42 instead of the 5.5-22x50 but the 10.5oz weight savings of the compact NXS optic is greatly out weighed the ability to zoom in on a ground hog at 600 yards when necessary.

If you are considering procuring the services of Robert Gradous, don't hesitate, I HIGHLY recommend him. I would venture to say he is the top smith in the USA.

I decided to tinker with the 100gr. Scenars today in the kill stick. Unfortunately, the wind was a little crazy (15 to 18 mph gusts...) I'd say the results are not to shabby for a 16.5" barrel... Overall, I am very happy with the performance of this rifle & I look forward to waffling a ground hog with these projectiles @ 2920fps!

40 gr. of Varget & NO PRESSURE signs!!

Updated the Kill Stick with a Nightforce 2.5-10x42 MOAR for this upcoming whitetail season... I have to admit, this is the perfect little tree stand carbine!

I appreciate the link, I think I might try those in my grendel and 260. I just ordered some 100gr amax to try since I couldn't find the lapuas. I'm hoping that I like the hornadys, a cheap bullet that should expand would be a great general load.

Needless to say, your rifle is beautiful and very practical. I'd love to have something like that made in the future.
