i have been thinking long and hard about this topic & i have come to the realization that there comes a time in everyones life at some time or place when they feel its time to make their memorable stand, ralphy vs scott farguss from christmas story. jimmy the greek vs the breeding of athletes & now elks vs the most carnage you've seen by a varmint gun(GRAPHIC) post.

Elks: First off let me say I GREATLY admire the fact that you called that cat in. When I grow up I hope to do the same thing, but after 48yrs I ain't growed up yet so probably it won't be any time soon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

To those of you that have a problem w/ these pic's may I ask ... haven't you ever went out to count coup on a varmint & when you got there you were like "Holy Smokes!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Would ya look at that." And if you had a buddy er two w/ ya you'd probably call 'em over saying "ya all ain't gonna believe this, but would you look at this." Then after a few yoos & yucks there comes the chuckles. Why we chuckle I'm not sure? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Then eventually the conversation comes around to "Boy, that new 23 caliber Big Bang bullet has some real terminal balistics. If the guys on PM could see this they wouldn't listen to those lugheads that think that those 23BBs are a bunch of hoowie. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Personally, as a proponent for the 52gr A-Maxes I shot a g'hog & it took the head clean off like someone whacked it w/ a machete, but for some stupid reason I didn't have my camera w/ me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif I could really have showed those lugheads that the A-Max has some real TB. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Another point ... I'm sure most of the guys can't tell if a Jackette is pregnant at under 5yds let alone 50. So it's not like they're saying "Hey, Bob, see that pregnant jackette out there at 100yds? Watch me fling jack fetus from there to Chester's house. Get the video cam' ready. Then we'll go out & take some pic's & see if we can make the new members on PM gag . As for the new members ... I hope that if not consciously at least sub-consciously they are taking note on what calibers & bullets are giving such great terminal performance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

My last point (I think?) is if the legislative portion of PM said "No graphic pictures" & the judiciary portion doesn't do anything about I believe that's called "Check & Balances."
 
you got to wonder sometimes when an item states carnage if they really understand what their getting into. its like going to a rated R movie & after the show you walk out and say, "i was'nt expecting to see any nudity or violence", even though the movie states that next to the R rating. "hey pard, tell ya what we should do, lets stand here & heckle those whom choose to go & see this movie that states there is nudity & violence". "and pard, we can sit there & tell them i can't believe they are doing this". "then we can go into the movie tommorrow & heckle those inside again". "what do you say pard"?

As I stated earlier-the photos are definatly interesting (to me). The discussions about the photos are also interesting, and in my mind both sides are presenting valid concerns. I happen to side somewhat with ELKS, only in the fact that they are indeed disturbing. However, as an ameteur psychologist, I believe I understand what has happened to ELKS. Perhaps he has become afflicted with a little known disorder (antihuntem paranosis). Those afflicted with this disease are usually outdoorsmen (or women) and often respected hunters. There intentions are almost always good, however, they have an undesirable urge to not offend antihunters/antimeateaters/barkhuggers etc. The only known remedy (so far)is to mentally reach way down, way down past the cockles of your heart, all the way to your subcockles and decide not to let the antis dictate what is right or wrong for you. The easiest way to do this is to post pics of maximum carnaged critters. If I can be of any more help, please let me know. I am here to get you through this. 1. The last time elks complained on this post, I explained my stance and he replied with a PM, not a public message and it was over. I'll have my fun (on a post that is clearly marked) and you go have your own fun.

hello,it is apparent that nobody will agree on whether or not graghic pictures should be displayed or not ? you are either for or against.i have said my peace i am against...i do not expect everyone to agree with me..what i would like to see is the guys who like this stuff not to hammer on everyone who disagrees with their opinion.everybody has valid points one way or the other..say your opinion & move on.i don't expect back-up nor" do i want it...in closing i realize this thread is marked as "GRAPHIC" don't use that as your way out...people are going to look it"s human nature...
 
No back up needed here. I happened back apon this thread after being away for a while. I was bummed to see that not only had the pics continued, but they had actually gotten worse. Originally posted was a question about what is the most carange you have seen. No where did it ask for photos or anything. It was simply a "what bullets are doing the most damage?" The thread started as such. Then all the sudden picture after pic showed up so it became labeled graphic. The thread got through several post without a pic and had good information. I am not arguing that it is wrong to blow things up. It is good to know which bullets are performing the best. I am saying that we could all do with out the pics. We all know what happens when a 2 pound animal is hit with over 400 pounds of energy.

There is a reason why pm policy specifically says no graphic pics. Same policy says keep language clean, etc. I am simply pointing out that this has no place being posted on our site. In the past it was not allowed and I am now supprised that it is allowed. This thread was the first one in the several years I have been here that people have actually been grossed out and offended by pics. Again, we can't simply just say bad language or some nudity and post what ever we want.

If you really want to share and veiw theese pics go someplace else as this is not the place for it.
 
I'm locking this one down boys. Our policy does say no graphic pictures.

This thread does nothing to promote our sport or the enjoyment of it.
