The New Remington single shot??

I have seen the New Remington single shot advertised. Anybody got one yet? It looks much like the Ruger #1 but at $350 and less it sure can't have the quality. I'm thinking if they aren't junk the 7.62x39 would be fun to shoot and not break the bank on ammo. If you got any info. I'd be glad to hear about it. Thanks.. AL VT
 
Is it actually made by remington here in the states or a made to our specs gun outsourced via baikal junk?
 
I don't know where its made. I seen them on the Gander mountain site in firearms, rifles , single shot and they will come right up. Take a look
 
That I cant say as Ive not had one in hand, BUT I am not a fan of the current break action rifles.
I am not a fan of any of the imported guns remington is having stamped with their name.
I do like falling block actions in a single shot, less movement in the field & much more accurate.
 
Its prolly the 597's coming in as recycled.. rebarreled.. ready for use..

i have that rifle. it is a russian baikal. it is somewhat crude but nice and light. it is also suprisingly accurate despite the trigger. mine is in 30-06. i got it for 200 from my cousin who needed cash. it is the gun i'm carrying for deer/bear this year. its smaller lighter than my marlin 3030 and more than accurate enough to get the job done out to the 250yds or so that i will use it at. for the price, i really like it.my local gun shop has them for less than 300 new
