I haven't seen anyone post on this yet. Nothing came up under the search i did. Anyways i am liking what i am reading in the reviews for this gun. Has anyone handled one yet? They were said to be available about now. Figured maybe they arrived at Cabela's and such by now. Hoping they are as smooth of action as the more expensive Tikka's and x-bolts.

Seeing as its marketed as an American hunting rifle, big game comes to mind, what tha come big game chamberings, not varmint getters.

I wouldnt own one no matter what its chambered in.....UGLY!

2 of my friends handled one at the Bill Hicks show in Minneapolis last week. Both had nthing but good things to say about it. It was very affordable also, I think it will be marketed againts the Savage Edge.

Anyone know if that trigger is as good as the accu-trigger? The gun its self looks almost exactly like the Savage Edge IMO.

Much nicer looking than the Edge imo. I can't deal with that 'shelf' or whatever behind the bolt shroud on the Edge. And I don't like the bolt handle mounted at the extreme rear of the bolt. I plan on getting one in .243 and if it is as accurate as I expect will wait for one in 22/250 which will inevitably follow. TTT

MSRP on the Ruger American was to be $425 IIRC, so it looks like it should hit bargain dealers shelves @ around $325 - 350 or so - about $50 - 75 more than the Edge.
