During the beginning of the Apollo Project, NASA was doing some of their training on a Navajo Reservation. One of the tribal elders asked what they were doing and one of the NASA representatives told him they were practicing for their trip to the moon. The tribal elder asked if he could send a message along with the crew. The NASA representative thought this was a great Public Relations opportunity and quickly acquired a tape recorder for his message.

After the message was complete, the NASA rep. asked what he had said in his recording, but they refused to give the interpretation. Many years later a government translator found the message and gave the interpretation to his supervisor. It read: "Watch out for these guys, they will try to steal your land."
