Are We About To Witness The Rise Of Petrus Romanus?

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:13,14 LINK

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2 LINK

Is this man ‘Petrus Romanus’?

RELATED STORY: Pope Benedict Unexpectedly Steps Down LINK

First published in 1595, the prophecies were attributed to St. Malachy by a Benedictine historian named Arnold de Wyon, who recorded them in his book “Lignum Vitæ.” Tradition holds that Malachy had been called to Rome by Pope Innocent II. While there, he experienced the vision of the future popes, including the last one, which he wrote down in a series of cryptic phrases.

Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Archbishop emeritus of Cape Coast (Ghana), was born on 11 October 1948 in Wassaw Nsuta, Ghana.

According to the prophecy, the next pope is to be the final pontiff, Petrus Romanus or Peter the Roman. Some Catholics believe that the next pope on St. Malachy’s list heralds the beginning of “great apostasy” followed by “great tribulation,” setting the stage for the imminent unfolding of apocalyptic events, something many non-Catholics would agree with.

This would give rise to a false prophet, who according to the book of Revelation leads the world’s religious communities into embracing a political leader known as Antichrist. In recent history, several Catholic priests – some deceased now – have been surprisingly outspoken about what they have seen as this inevitable danger rising from within the ranks of Catholicism as a result of secret satanic “Illuminati-Masonic” influences.

“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven- hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End.” – Malachy’s Prophecy Of The Last Pope

These priests claim secret knowledge of a multinational power elite and occult hierarchy operating behind supranatural and global political machinations. Within this secret society are sinister false Catholic infiltrators who understand that as the Roman Catholic Church represents one-sixth of the world’s population and over half of all Christians, it is indispensable for controlling future global elements in matters of church and state. The dark forces seek to fulfill a diabolical plan they call “Alta Vendetta,” which is set to assume control of the papacy and to help the False Prophet deceive the world’s faithful (including Catholics) into worshipping Antichrist. As stated by Michael Lake on the front cover, Catholic and evangelical scholars have dreaded this moment for centuries.

Unfortunately, as readers are told, the time to avoid Peter the Roman just ran out. source – WND LINK

(Editor’s Note: We present this to you for your consideration, as it is a widely-discussed story. However, please note that as bible believers, we put our faith only in the prophecies mentioned in God’s word – the Holy Bible – from Genesis to Revelation, and not in the word of man outside of the bible, as was Malachy and the “prophecy” of Petrus Romanus.)

I guess since the "Mayan end of the world mania" is over it's time for the "last Pope end of the world mania" to grip us all.

And what does Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson have to do with Petrus Romanus? He is just one of many speculated to be in line for the Papacy.

Who knows ? The Mayan stuff wasn't even believable as far as I was concerned. There are plenty of Biblical prophecies that have foretold the times we are in, and where we are is very well depicted. I don't pay any attention to psychics and mystics, but Biblical prophecies have never failed and are quickly coming to pass. What is going on with the "Papacy" does tie in with prophecies. And a Pope has not stepped down for any reason in the last 600 years. When something happens that doesn't seem quite right, I always ask myself why is this happening. It's easy to ignore something and wait to be knocked over by reality of something that I should have seen coming, but I was too lazy to look into. There have been a few on here that have called "conspiracy theory" to everything from drones, to FEMA camps, to unprecedented purchases of ammunition by the government, and that said Zero could never do anything against our constitution because of the checks and balances. The truth of all these things has become all but incontrovertible in a matter of months, and those people are silent. And drones are patrolling our airways looking for a murderer, and Zero has policy that he can use them to take out American citizens without trial or representation. We'll have our answers sooner than people will expect in regards to the next Pope. As for me, I was never Catholic and don't believe the way they do.

A lot of people will bet on a horse or a football team, staking their hard earned money because they trust their hunches and observations. Me, I don't bet on any of those things. I place my belief on the Word of God, where not one prophecy has failed. I figure that is way better than a good bet. I'll leave conspiracy theories to those who trust in man.

First, this isn't a biblical prophesy. Second, biblical prophesies are subject to the interpretation of the reader and have been misread and misunderstood for centuries. Some of Christ's followers from when he walked the earth thought he would return in their lifetime. People have believed they were living in the end-times since Christ ascended into heaven. No man knows or can predict when Christ will return.

I see this as another attempt by people who dislike Catholics and the Catholic Church to further try and demonize and insult them by saying Catholics will usher in the Anti-Christ. Many of these people put more stock in secret societies and mysticism than the actual teachings of Christ.

I didn't say this is prophesy. And you can believe what you want. Somehow you seem to skim over the whole point of my post, and that is okay. I am not putting down Catholics in any way. Time will tell. This is definitely not a post for you to read, as you are obviously opposed to it from the start. With that said, I can post what I want, as long as I am not doing anything to denigrate anyone, and I am not. If everything I said there is in total opposition to your ideas for some reason, then move along. But God does not change, and He spoke in times past and still speaks today. What I posted is obviously not for you. For anybody else here that wants to read what I post, here is a follow up article.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21)

Lighting Strikes The Basilica Of St.Peter’s Dome After Pope Resignation
Posted on February 12, 2013 by NTEB News Desk

“And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Luke 10:18

This was the moment lightning struck the Vatican today – hours after Pope Benedict XVI’s bolt-from-the-blue resignation.

The lightning touched the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the holiest Catholic churches, after the Pope’s shock admission he lacks strength to do the job.

A sign from God? Lighting strikes the basilica of St.Peter’s dome earlier this evening during a storm that struck Rome on the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation

In a decision that has surprised even his closest aides, the 85-year-old Pontiff said his strength was ‘no longer adequate to continue in office due to his advanced age’.

He announced his resignation in Latin to a meeting of Vatican cardinals this morning, saying he did not have the ‘strength of mind and body’ to continue leading more than a billion Roman Catholics worldwide.

Centurion, what am I missing about the point of the article you posted? You haven't written any commentary except in response to me.

I wasn't implying you were denigrating Catholics. I am skeptical of a "prophesy" simply attributed to a Saint by a historian.

I highly doubt they will elect a black guy as Pope. They surely would be afraid that rather than being born in Africa they would find proof he was actually born in Hawaii. Hopefully they could also determine before hand this time if the guy was really a Muslim, I'm just sayin.

I would never follow a god who wouldn't or couldn't speak to me. And I would never recommend anyone else follow a god like that, either. From the garden of Eden God has spoken with man. He spoke with Adam and Eve. He spoke to Noah, to prepare an ark to save his family. He spoke with Daniel, giving him interpretations to dreams, and even showing Daniel dreams the King dreamed. God spoke through a donkey once. He spoke to Moses up on the mountain, while the rest of the people shivered and shook in the valley below, hearing the thundering of God's voice. They could have heard from God, too, but their hearts weren't right, so they asked Moses to go meet with God. God spoke to a shepherd boy named David, who would become king. In the new testament God spoke to Saul of Tarsus, who was on his way to persecute Christians. Saul had even held the coats of those who stoned Stephen, God's faithful martyr. Afterwards Saul of Tarsus became Paul the Apostle, who wrote a majority of the New Testament. In the book of Joel, Joel prophesied as inspired by God Himself of the days we find ourselves in now.

28And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. Joel 2:28

In Acts chapter 2 God does just that, and empowers His church.

Jesus had little sympathy for the Pharisees, who had so little discernment that they didn't even recognize who it was who stood before them. They totally missed the Savior who was knocking on the door of their hearts...

54And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Luke 12:54-56

Peter also foretold a time when scoffers would come--

>
King James Version
1This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

God still speaks today. And I'm not arrogant enough to say that the topic of the article is not a prophecy. God still speaks to those who prepare their hearts to hear from Him. And for those who do, they won't be caught unawares at His coming.
