Thermal Recommendations

I can only imagine how people are annoyed even seeing the subject which is repetitive. BUT!!!...I've had a Pulsar Trail XQ30 and have enjoyed it. It is a 6.5 max magnification. I would like to go higher on the magnification. I def love the thermal so looking for recommendations of a thermal with higher magnification and I'm willing to spend 5K or under. Best recommendations?

Are you looking for a unit with 6.5 base magnification or one that will just go higher than 6.5 when you zoom? The SY, Super Yoter with 3x-12x has as good or better zoomed imagine from any I have seen, especially in your budget range. The majority of scopes image quality falls off drastically when zoomed but the super yoter still looks really good to me when max zoomed.

... to get the maximum basic optical magnification, you have only 2 alternatives:

https://www.atncorp.com/thermal-scope-thor-4-640-4-40x

which has a minimum optical magnification of 4X....
(...but I know that Atn, strangely enough, even though it's made in the USA, isn't much loved by you American guys ....)

https://www.infirayoutdoor.com/thermal-imaging-riflescope-tube-th50-series_p80.html

which is a brand new thermal device and has 3.5X minimum optical magnification
(I was able to test it and it is truly remarkable ...)

The Super Yoter 50 is going to be a good option. If you liked XQ30 but simply want more magnification, you could go to the Thermion 2 XQ50 or the Trail 2 XQ50LRF. The Thermion is going to be less expensive and have the standard glass-scope design while the Trail will have the longer lasting batteries, and LRF.

No to ATN thermals. We can go into this via PM if you want more information.

yes yes, maybe I can already imagine the motivation ... in fact ... mine was an almost rhetorical consideration and represented more of my thought than a real question ... Surely your Bering Optics Super Yoter 50 and mine Infiray Saim SCH50 with 3X minimum magnification are currently among the best thermal riflescopes in the world. To go beyond 3X .... the brand new Infiray Tube TH50 with 3.5X is truly a great device. I was able to test it in front of the shop and was impressed. For those who want more magnification, for long range shots, IMO, right now, is an excellent choice. I have not even considered devices with 384x288 medium definition sensors (such as the Thermion 2 XQ50 or the Trail 2 XQ50 lrf). After various tests here in the fog and in the high relative humidity of the Po Valley, I assure you dear friends, that the 384x288 loses a lot of detection capacity. The 640x480 or 640x512 sensor becomes a practically mandatory choice ....
