Thermal Scanner

I've owned several including FLIR and Pulsar. I now own a N Vision Nox 35. It is the best that I have ever used or seen. Not cheap though but IMO it is worth the money.
As I have gotten older I need more clarity and magnification than I used to. My buddy just bought a Pulsar XG35 and he likes it, but he is 30 years younger than me.

I’ve been running a 640 phenom for a couple years. This year I decided I had to have a range finder so I picked up a pulsar axion 2 xg35 lrf. I very much prefer the phenom and I’m glad I didn’t sell it. My next purchase will be an LRF rifle scope and the axion will be sold. The Phenom isn’t going anywhere except Bearing for a battery replacement.

Are you having trouble with your battery?

No. It still lasts for several hours but definitely seems to be a shorter run time than new. i make sure to plug it in to something between sets If it’s going to be a long night. I think this is its third year. I just meant it would be going back someday. I have no intention of getting rid of it.

I should add that i have been spoiled with long battery life. I generally don’t shut anything off when traveling between sets. I didn’t realize how good the phenom was until I tried something else. sample size of one.

Thats what im looking at trying is the Sidewinder TM35-640. The removable 18650s is a big plus.

Also i hear great things about the image on these as well!

We will see how this works out!

I want lower base mag and more field of view than my Phenom!

I've owned a lot of different scanners from Pulsar, N-Vision, Trijicon and the new AGM Sidewinder 640 blows them all out of the water when it comes to detection range. In foggy conditions that we've had lately the sidewinder picks up stuff with ease that you can't even see in the Helion 2 Pro XP50.

I am happy with my AGM sidewinder 25-384 although the 35-640 would be even better with a wider fov. I am shooting with a Bering Supper Hogster I am looking at an AGM V2 Rattler 35-384 or maybe the 640. AGM has some good upgrades with the V2 I have not been able to look thru one yet

I bought and am using the AGM Taipan 15-384. I bought it because it had the lowest base mag (@1.5x) in a 384 unit I could find at the time. My Super Hogster and Super `Yoter have 2.9x and 3x respectively as I recall.

Where I hunt the brush is rather thick. Trying to track a critter that is not DRT is a non starter with 3x base mag IMHO.
I have become rather attached to the Taipan. It is great for detection/discovery as well as observation. At the distances I shoot I have no problem differentiating between deer, hogs, coyotes, fox, bunnies and rats.
I have good Leica Binocs, but I find that I can spot game much quicker with the Taipan.

YMMV

ya!
