Oh many of us have touched it as kids, Its not glowing anymore, cant be hot... Sumbizzle. Our current 5 vehicles are so old all of them have one and many ashtray compartments.

My truck is so old it had ash trays and cigarette lighters, which I took out and threw away the day I drove it off the showroom floor. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. It works!

My van has a cigarette lighter, still brand new rolling around in the glove box, I needed the port to run my gps. Ashtray is full of change overflow from the change holder.
