Thinking about a new scope. Iray Rico 384 vs super yoter?

.... that's what I'd like to ask too .... These excellent Chinese Infiray thermal devices, which have so many different names ... (ALPHA ....; RICO Mk1 640; RICO Mk1 384; RICO BRAVO 384; RICO RH50 640; RICO RL42 384; SAIM SCP19 256; SAIM SCT35 384) ... all have 12 micron pixel pitch and polymer body. Does going from 95 ° F to 0 ° F retain the POI well?

Yes they actually come with the rubber eye cup, but I ripped mine off, I do not like them. FYI I've done it will all the Trijicon units as well.

I have yet to run the Alpha, that is my next goal, and I will find out it's performance soon enough. I don't think it will underperform the MK1, after all it is designed to outperform it, and with my previous experiences with the MK1 I would be willing to bet the issues if any will be nominal.

At one point 2 years ago I had the MKIII 60, Reap 60, Reap 35, and Patrol M300W, all were zero'd at 100M (110yds) in 0-20° F degree temps. They were used throughout my season (temps ranging from -30 to 75° F, and were acclimated from winter into spring with at least a 90° F swing, I didn't have any issues.

I had 2 pulsar units, XP50 trail and the XP50 trail 2 LRF mod, same zero process and acclimation period, with numerous rezero's having to be made.

We've currently used 2 Rico MK1 640's, only difference in the zero process was it was raining, then converted to sleet/snow mix while they were zero'd. There was a point in time where we quit killing from March (depredation) up until July (more depredation) and went to verify zero on both units again, at 100M (110yds) only not in rainy sleet, but in 75° F comfort... No shift no issues, take it for what it's worth, that's just my experience.

Regarding the names of these units, it's not that difficult to understand.
You have the Rico MK1's a 640 (RH50) unit and a 384 (RL42) unit.
You have the Alpha ( an upgraded MK1 640 with more options) Bravo (upgraded MK1 384 with more options)

I have no idea what the SCP19 256 or the SCT35 384 are, (maybe a euro thing)

IMHO, the Pulsar names is a $hit show. You have the Helion XP50, Helion XP38, or the Helion XQ50, Helion XQ38F , Lexion XP, Axion XM30, Axion XM30S, Axion XM38, Axion XQ38, Axion XQ38 LRF. Accolade XP50LRF, Accolade XQ38LRF, Accolade XQ30, Accolade XQ50.

Now the weapon sights,

Apex XQ50, Apex XQ50LRF, Apex XD75, Apex XD38A.
Trail XP50, Trail XP50LRF, Trail XP38, Trail XP38LRF, Trail XQ50, Trail XQ38.
Trail 2 XP50LRF, Trail 2XQ50LRF.
Thermion XG50,
Thermion XP50, Thermion XP38 Thermion XQ50,Thermion XQ38, Thermion XM50, Thermion XM30, Thermion 2 XP50, Thermion 2 XQ50, Thermion 2 XQ38.

Granted, I know the numbers are not that difficult to understand. BUT for the average consumer who's looking to get into this, yes it may honestly be intimidating and overwhelming.

Thanks for the answer Skinney ... You're right all these names, all these acronyms and all these numbers represent a real mess for many hunters ...
It seems that the Infiray Rico Alpha (which has a new original desert color) will not arrive soon in Italy. So, for the time being, I think I'll take G Anderson's advice ... I'll buy 2 Burris signature 30mm rings with plastic inserts and mount the Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50 on the semiautomatic rifle cal. 308 Benelli Argo Amazonia Green, hoping not to crawl the tube of the thermal riflescope. In September I would like to start night hunting for badgers, foxes, jackals and hogs. When the Infiray Rico Alpha 640 arrives, I will be able to compare it with the Thermion 2 XP50 and decide whether to change it or keep it.
My son knows that you go hunting in the beautiful lands of South Dakota ... Do you live near Rapid City? He saw that there is the Dinosaur Park ... Does it deserve to be visited?

LOL, ya I live a couple hours away from Rapid City, We were just up there with our KTM's doing some Enduro Trails. I'm not sure or the Dinosaur park your regarding, but there is Mount Rushmore, Reptile Gardens, and the Mammoth site over in Hot Springs...

I was invited last year to take my thermal equipment up with a fella who is subcontracted by the National Forrest (to fly helicopter) I believe, in attempt to locate some Buffalo that had escaped and were needing some rounding up... Unfortunately I was too busy on the Ranch to attend to that matter.

Since the lens (50 mm) and the sensor of the Infiray E6 Pro V3.0 are the same of the Super Yoter and the Infiray Rico 640, I ask you if, by observing and comparing the white hot versus black hot photos that I inserted in the other post , what impressions did you have? In your opinion, it is better to always set the white hot mode to better see the details as expected and perhaps recommended from WestTX 25/06?
