Thinking about buying a Taurus PT140

One Shot One Kill

Hello all. I am thinking about buying a PT140 for home protection as well as to cary with me for a second firearm for protection while I hunt and possibly thinking about getting my conceal and cary. I would like to know what people think of this firearm that has had one or still does. I have not been able to get out and shoot one yet to see how it feels to shoot but I have been to some shops and like the way it feels in my hands. And please, if you have not owned one please dont comment unless you have nice things to say. I am wanting to hear from owners and people that have owned them. If you have a friend that has one that would be fine. I just dont want people that just want to bash on Taurus just cause they dont like them.

I have a PT145 which is the 45acp version and love it. It shoots well when I do my part. Cheap, reliable, and is a gun u don't care to use, scratch, drop or anything like that. The reason I went 45acp over 40 was the 45s have a little rail on the bottom side of barrel for accessories. There's not alot of aftermarket peices for them though. Just my two cents worth hope it helps.

My wife has a PT 24/7C in pink it's 40 cal and loves it.I just bought a 24/7 OSS in 45.If you have not held one of these you might want to great feel IMO.

I'm waiting on a pt111 to show up at our store so i can check it out. The only problem i have had with taurus pistols in the past is that i'm left handed and sometimes i would hit the mag release while firing, not a problem i guess if i got the first shot right.

I have the same pistol love it shoots good not a target model by any means accurate enough reliable and just fun the 180 gr in it can be a little stiff but not unbearable I say you cant beat um I have owned a few Taurus pistols and never had a hiccup out of any of them.

I don't personally own one, but I do sell them. Taurus makes a decent pistol for the $(they make a better revolver than they do a pistol). Their pistols are either loved or hated. Doesn't seem to be much in between. Either you get a good one or a really bad one. Good thing is, they have a lifetime warranty. The PT640 has a rail and is a SA/DA pistol for an extra few bucks, just something to keep in mind.

I have a pt738 in 380. Nice little pocket gun. I also have a 445 in 44 spl and a Tracker 44 mag. All shoot and function quite well.
