Those who have used GSX or Cyclops light

I was looking at some sponsors products for the last three days. Well my wife noticed me being glued to the PC and looking at lights. So she took my son to Gander Mtn. and bought me their higher end GSX Cyclops look a like 700 lumen led single cree spotlight. I decided to give it a try. I was not impressed. It was bright with no filter. But with filter you would be lucky to ID 125 yards. The main beam was brightest but diminished greatly with not much flood effect. Being new to this I wonder if I am expecting to much? I watch these shows like FOXPRO Furtaker or youtube videos and these light are covering area like a cars headlights. This GSX says 7mil candlelight. This is very frustrating to say the least. Does anybody else use or used this GSX or Cyclops lights? If so how did they work or not work? I am just trying to figure out if I need to return this light. Thanks
 
Foxpro is using Lightforce lights and many of them along with other lighting to achieve that effect. You cannot compare your light to these.

Filtering light will cut down your throw by about 2/3rds
