Thoughts on Fast Food

First, I'll admit I'm not the healthiest eater/drinker (trashcan likes his posole, tortillas and tequila) but for the love of Pete!! How do people stomach Wataburger etc!?! That stuff is the devil!! I just swung by there cause I had to run errands during lunch and by golly I feel totally poisoned /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif My heart is hammering in my chest and I feel short of breath. I have made a vow to treat fast food like I treat Wal-Mart from here on out, I ain't goin' back in there!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif I will now play The Amazing Trash and predict a horrible RR (restroom run) in the very near future. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

The only things that should be fast are cars and women! They can be bad for your health also! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I try to stay away from the fast food when possible. I travel a bit and sometimes there is nothing else do to the lack of time.

We eat "fast food" maybe once or twice a year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif. There are too many in the food chain with hepatitus, HIV and packing e-coli /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif. The absolute best meals available are right at home and made from food we grow ourselves /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif. Anyone who has even the smallest yard can grow plenty to eat if they were a mind to /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. I have had a meal twice in the last five years at MacDonalds /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif. Both times I got sicker than a mangy puking dog /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif.

All fast food is disguting and probably the worst thing you could eat...What [beeep] me off is that people feed their kids McDonalds dang near everyday. You might as well let them swim around in antifreeze. Just as bad.

My bro and I decided to boycot all fast food in November of 2000 and now when I look at that stuff it doesn't even look good nor edible. I eat just about everything but one thing you cant get me to do is eat at a fast food place.

Trashcan...Do me a favor and read "Fast Food Nation". Really eye opening!

That just could be a reaction to chemical additives and flavor enhancers like Glycine salts and Glutamic acids. Many people are allergic to MSG, for example.

I don't eat at the burger joints at all. If I was to get a burger from McD's I might as well just take it into the bathroom to eat it. The absolute WORST I've ever had were from White Castle.

I do occasionally eat at Subway or Quiznos, and El Pollo Loco and Popeye's get my business from time to time too.

One source that's sometimes excellent is the roach coaches, the big ones where the food isn't pre-cooked. I've had some great food off the roach coaches in the Gay Bay area (oriental), L.A. (mexican), Philly (hoagies and Philly steak), Chicago (brats and wurst), etc., etc.

Street vendor food can be pretty good too. I've had some things in Asia that I didn't even want to know the ingredients of, that tasted wonderful.

Wouldn't want any newcomers here to think we are all healthy, fit and diet conscious. So, I'll come clean. I start suffereng fast food withdrawl after two days. I need those Whoopers, Egg McMuffins and Original Recipe chicken to stay alive! I'm a charter member of the Mickey-D fan club. Those were the days when hamburgers were 15 cents and fries were a dime. If I can, I like to wash it all down with a good vintage wine from a box. If there is any truth to the saying that you are what you eat, then I'm a walking trash can.

The fact that I have eaten more "fast food" than "home food"...in the past 20 yrs...is a major reason I went from 160# [in '87], to 300# [year ago]. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
I still am somewhat "addicted" to fast food, candy, chips & pop. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
But since changing to a slightly better diet last Nov., I got down to 240# [in April]. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
But, since I sit on my backside every day driving [job]...I'm back up to 260#. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I'm beginning to think I'll never be smaller again! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Dang it, where'd I put that Big Mac & Pepsi? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Im not much on fast food, But those mom and pop mexican taco shops have me hooked. I don't mind Panda express, Caprioti Deli and a few other eats. But I dont consider them fast food as there is no drive through.

I always try to eat healthy. I take a salad, yogurt, and fruit in my lunch, but when I go through McDs drive through to get a large bold coffee, there is a little voice in my head saying "double quarter pounder with cheeeeeeeese" The BK stacker quads are good too.

Where I live, fast food has four legs and is running for it's life. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
No choke and puke outlets here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Of course I do get to the "Big silly" sometimes. When I do, my daughter and son in law always ask me to pickup MacDonald's. By the time they get it, it is probably several hours old. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I guess it's the thing to purge your system from time to time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Love it, Double Whopper with cheese, Big Mac's, Bacon Ultimate Cheese Durgers and All Beef Burrito's. BK, McD, JnB and TB all get some of my money. And I still weigh 120.

What I know about fast food is this: Don't think that because you're apparently healthy and relatively slim that your arteries are not getting clogged! A friend of mine had a heart attack and died at 41 from undetected clogged arteries.. Balance the junk food with some good food, keep up your vitamin and mineral intake and activity, and make sure you hit the doctor for an exam every so often.

Oh yeah, Coyotesmoke-unless you've gained a ton of weight since we last met.... BTW-you ought to see that .300 winny now!

Now, back to my Taco Bell grilled stuft burrito!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
