Tikka vs T/C venture 22-250

Looking for a decent shooting 22-250 truck gun. Might be used for calling as well. Interested in both of these but leaning towards the tikka. How do you guys who have them like them? Accuracy, trigger etc. Thank you.

I have had a Superlite for about two years now. I ended up shooting a bunch of 50 gr Varmint Express factory loads to acquire brass and the rifle really liked that ammo, sub MOA very consistently. It would shoot the 55gr stuff as well but seemed like I had to "try harder". Mine is currently in a McM Gamescout and the rifle handles very well. The trigger isn't what I am used to, but not bad. I just prefer a bit lighter pull.....I have adjusted it all the way down and given the performance of it, I just haven't been too concerned on doing anything with it further.

If the T/C Venture is a 1-12" twist and the Tikka is a 1-14" twist I would go with the T/C Venture and the 1-12" twist if you are having trouble deciding between these two rifles.

I also have had the Superlite for just over a year. The X model has some improvements with the replaceable grip being my favorite.
Accuracy and trigger are good and the single stack mag is convenient and reliable.
With nearly 50 coyotes to it's credit out to over 350 yds I am still smiling.
I have a 1-14 twist and am very happy with it, however Tikka does market a lite model with 1-8 twist that has been popular. Having had a 1-8 twist Tikka it wasn't necessary for my style of shooting but does offer more choices for some.

Although I don’t have a 22-250 I do have a Tikka t3 lite in .223. I can without a doubt say it’s more accurate than I am. The range in my hometown is only 100yds but at 100 I can put 5 shots touching. The trigger is the best factory trigger I’ve ever used. I’m assuming the 22-250 will be the same.

have both in .204.

the tikka is a much more refined rifle. the friggin bolt is as smooth as they come on any rifle. the stock is stiff and works great with the rifle.

the venture is heavier and working the bolt is not near as nice as the tikka. nothing terrible. just not as nice. the stock is stiff and works good with the rifle.

both feed from the mag perfect.

accuracy of both is fantastic. would consider it neck and neck with the 2 i have.

think it all comes down to weight (and if you want/need an action that feels super nice).

btw, the venture is no longer being made.

Tikka is twice the price of the Venture.

Venture's are no longer being made, if you want one, you better get it.

Venture has a shorter throat than the Tikka.

think you are way low on those prices.

and they can be found for about $100 difference. still plenty of ventures in 22-250 available at this time.

I have a Tikka T3 Forest in .243. Dead-nuts accurate with factory loads and very, very well made. The Finns don't skimp on their "lower" end models from the Sakos. It's probably my favorite rifle, and I wish they sold it in a few different calibers.

Right now Euro Optics is running decent prices on their Tikka T3's, and if you call they might even knock more off the price tag if you pay with an electronic check.

Amen. I prefer the 12 twist in my 250s. Never had a Tikka but I do have the Venture and I can tell you that the only complaints would come from any critter within 500 yards. Lol

I have a Tikka T3x in .22-250 with a 1-8 twist. This was a special run offered by Whittaker's Guns. You might check with them to see if they still have some. I like mine.

Thanks for the info guys. Ended up finding a new venture at a local shop. I’ll give her a shot. Hope to have it all set up next week.

Got the venture all decked out. 4.5x14 x42 Burris predator scope. If she shoots as good as she looks all will be good. Should have it on the range within the week. Thanks for the info guys.

You may already have, or want to get, a ballistics app like Strelok Pro to evaluate the scope picture at various zooms/ranges/loads.
It will take some patience to get used to any app like this, but its worth it, imo.

Here's a quick look at factory load 50 gn VMAX with your scope zeroed at 200 yds,
with cross wind of 10 mph, at
(A) 100 yds-14X,
(B) 300 yds-14X
(C) 300 yds-7X.
