Tikka's and their Picatinney style rail

Don't have a Tikka, but I see many who do, opt for adding a Pic style rail over the factory existing rail.
I fail to see the advantage of this, so wondering if someone would shed some light for me,
thanks,

Some accessories work well with Pic mount like quick detach rings and some scopes come with pic mount built right in.
Sure there are other acc. that I don't use.

It gives you more scope mounting points to get the proper eye relief. It seems many new scopes have a shorter distance to slide the scope forward and backwards in the rings.

The Tikka factory rings have a recoil pin/lug so they are limited to that mounting location.

Talley makes a nice picatiny rail for TIkka.Red Dots and Most 30mm scopes are mounted with picatinny rings.
However if you are wanting a simple great mount for hunting Talley makes a one piece ring mount for Tikka that is awesome.

I have multiple Tikkas, and I love them -- lightweight, super-accurate, and smooth. I don't like the supplied rings and the dovetail idea. From experience, I can tell you that it doesn't take much of a bump to dislodge the rings from the dovetail, and at that point the ring is usually bent. Can be fixed in the field, but accuracy is then off.

The pic rail on a Tikka is rock solid, and facilitates larger-diameter scopes more easily. It also gives you more options other than a 0-MOA mount, for those who like to shoot long range. More durable, less susceptible to movement. Hope this helps!
