To Fox Bang or not to Fox Bang?

Turned mine off also. Sent it in and paid the extra to get it on my Fury. Bumped my gun to frequently and set it off. Might not hurt, but not what I had planned and never got anything coming in after that. Would love for it to work as have seen coyotes hold up after another one gets tagged and starts its own ky-yi.

^^^^^^^^This.
I use mine religiously. If it ever does go off accidently now, (rarely) I don't fumble around trying to hurry and shut it off. I just make sure the gun is ready and let it play for a couple of minutes. I would hate to be w/o it.

I must admit being a little bit surprised how many guys think that having it go off accidentally is the kiss of death on a stand. It's not like I want it to happen or anything, I do try and avoid it, by simply not turning on the remote until I'm all situated. But when it does go off unexpectedly, my take is, big whoopidy doo. I just don't believe that a couple Ki-Yi's are going to hurt my chances on a stand very often.

Depends on how far you are from your call. If you are too far away it will not register the shot. If you set your sensitivity too high then bumping it will cause it to go off.

Personally I have one of my preset buttons already set up and trigger it manually. Haven't had any complaints.

I often stand up while hunting, especially at night. When standing, the remote pretty much has to be on a lanyard or in a pocket. Either way, it ends up getting bumped seemingly every other stand. At night you need at least 3 hands to hunt properly, and I often do it solo. Doesn't happen as much when sitting.

Absolutely agree. Might even enhance the chances occassionally.

same here. wildfire 2 went off if I coughed. crossfire works just fine on a low setting.

Mine is off too. I have my number 1 preset on the same call and volume that FoxBang would be set to, so its not a problem for me to hit my preset after a shot to call it up.
Overall I couldn't be happier with my call. I am using a Fury 2... LOVE IT

Bingo!

I think it works pretty well. Yeah I've bumped the remote and had it go off a time or two but it's generally not a big deal. It generally works as it's supposed to. I have coy pup cries as the setting and it stops foxes for a second shot pretty well. Not a lot of experience on coyotes yet.

I use mine, and I think it really helps honestly. I've been able to get several coyotes, that I/we missed on a stand, when they stop after they hear the call switch. It is a pain in the butt how sensitive they are, and yes I've had a few times where bumping the call has set it off. We ended up just getting a Crown Royal bag to put it the remote in when carrying it to a stand, and it seems to have helped.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. Love it for a second shot when multiple coyotes come in, hate it on a fox stand when it gets bumped and accidentally goes off.

The absolute best reason to have fox bang, is for your hunting buddy. After an uncussecful stand, have him go pick up the call. As soon as he goes to grab it, set it off. Who says white men can't jump! Lol.
