torque specs

I just got a burris pepr mount and a vortex viper scope. Does anybody know the in lbs I need to torque the rings too?

Anywhere between 15 to 20 INCH pounds will be more than enough.

Depending on the type & brand of torque wrench you have, it could be off (+ or -) as much as 5-7 inch pounds, so in the ballpark of 20 inch pounds is fine.

The PEPR has an insert in the package with the torque specs. It calls for 20 in/lb on the caps and 65-100 in/lbs on the base to rail. I just talked with BO today and he said, torque the base to 85 and call it good.

The PEPR is a good mount, but I'd be very careful about subjecting the base bolts/nuts to 80-100 inch pounds. That's alot and if it's anything like thier "XTR Tacticle" rings, it's going to strip the nut out.

One more question,loc-tite or not. Thanks for the answers, guys. I'll look for the insert with the specs, but I don't remember there being one.

Blue loctite would be a good idea. Definitely wouldn't hurt.

ABSOLUTELY!! If it screws tight, it will unscrew. It will happen.

Definitely use blue LT on the screws.
