traditional 2 point sling or single point?

For hunting I use a 2 point. For my social gun, a single.

Two points are good for longer carrying periods and in some cases can be used to shoot from a sling steadied position.

Single points are good for when it is only going to hang for short periods of time and you are keeping it slung so it can be dropped at any time to transition to something else. It does, however, swing around a lot. Make sure you propertly adjust the sling or wear a cup. You can go from right to left shoulder shooting without having to unsling the rifle. This is more of an issue in tactical situations where you are negotiating barricades.

I used a three point previously as well. They work well too but again, the two point I feel works better for general hunting. It lets you shoot with the gun slung like a single point, but you can immediately let it hang and it doesn't swing wildly like a single point does. But you have more webbing to contend with.

So the question is, what are you going to use it for?

One point slings are less than desireable. You must keep at least one hand on the rifle at all times when moving or they flop around. Take a lesson from the guys that have to carry rifles around day in and day out. The Marine Corps uses the Vicker Combat Application Sling.

Exactly the reason I prefer the tactical link as it is either or as you can see I have been there done that as far as carrying a rifle day to day
